Summary

PhotoSweep is a Pawsitive Games browser extension that helps people review duplicate and similar photos in supported online photo libraries. Photo matching runs locally in the browser extension. PhotoSweep does not upload your photo library for matching.

Data processed locally on your device

To provide scan, review, report, Trash, undo, and diagnostics features, PhotoSweep may read and process these items inside your browser:

• Photo and video thumbnails loaded by a supported provider page.
• Provider item identifiers needed to show results and move only selected items to Trash.
• Basic provider-page media metadata such as dimensions, dates, and provider URLs.
• Duplicate groups, review decisions, keep or skip choices, scan checkpoints, and locally generated reports.
• Local embedding and cache data used to avoid repeating duplicate analysis.
• A provider account email or identifier exposed by a signed-in provider page, when needed to associate saved scan state with that provider account.

This data is stored in Chrome extension storage on your device. You can clear saved results and cache data from the extension UI.

Data sent to PhotoSweep services

PhotoSweep's license service receives only information needed to start checkout, recover a license, refresh entitlement state, prevent abuse, and support paid users. This can include a selected plan, license session ID, Stripe customer or checkout identifiers, buyer email when you supply it during checkout or license recovery, signed entitlement state, and privacy-safe diagnostic or product event data.

Optional telemetry is sent only after you accept the in-product disclosure. It can include app open, scan, checkout, export, Trash, entitlement, and categorized error events, plus provider, scan mode, plan, and count buckets where applicable. You can decline telemetry without losing scan, review, report, Trash, licensing, or recovery features.

PhotoSweep does not send photo content, thumbnails, filenames, album names, raw reports, provider URLs, exact timestamps, people or location labels, or page content to its license service.

Payments and third parties

• Stripe: Stripe processes checkout, payment details, receipts, fraud checks, and transaction records under its own terms and privacy policy. PhotoSweep does not store payment card details.
• Photo providers: PhotoSweep works through supported provider websites in a signed-in browser session. Google, Apple, Amazon, and their photo services are independent services governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
• License database: Our hosted license API may use Google Cloud Firestore to store license records, webhook-deduplication records, and sanitized analytics events.
• License recovery email: If license-recovery email is enabled, a configured email provider or webhook receives only the buyer email and signed recovery link needed to deliver that message. We will identify the provider in this policy before enabling that delivery path.
• Hosting: Like most websites, the service used to host these public pages may process standard technical request information needed to deliver a page.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

PhotoSweep uses Chrome extension permissions and provider page access only to provide or improve its single purpose: finding, reviewing, reporting, and safely cleaning duplicate photos in supported photo libraries. PhotoSweep does not use this data for advertising, unrelated profiling, or data brokerage.

PhotoSweep transfers user data only when needed to provide licensing or support, comply with law, protect against abuse or security issues, or with your explicit consent. PhotoSweep does not sell user data or use photo-derived data for ads.

PhotoSweep's use of information received from Google APIs, if any, will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention

Local scan data remains on your device until you clear it, remove the extension, or Chrome clears extension storage. License records are retained while needed for paid access, receipts, refund handling, support, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, and legal compliance.

Your choices and requests

• You can decline optional telemetry in the extension.
• You can clear local scan results and cache data in the extension.
• You can request support, a refund, or deletion of license records by emailing pawsitivegames@gmail.com.

Some payment, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal records may need to be retained after a deletion request.

Security

PhotoSweep signs license entitlements server-side and verifies them in the extension with a bundled public key. Extension pages do not load remote executable JavaScript. Stripe Checkout opens externally.
